Announcing our new Diablo Data CMTS product line, the Diablo Data Slingshot Series! There are multiple models to choose from:
- The Slingshot Node 3.0 is an IP67-rated DOCSIS 3.0 CMTS product with an integrated launch amplifier and optical input support for video services that can be used indoors or outdoors.
- The Slingshot Node 3.1 an IP67-rated DOCSIS 3.1 CMTS product with an integrated launch amplifier and optical input support for video services that can be used indoors or outdoors.
- The Slingshot 64, a fan-less 32 Channel downstream, 8 channel upstream small form-factor CMTS designed for smaller applications requiring less than 64 cable modems.
- The Slingshot 96, a fan-less 32 Channel downstream, 8 channel upstream small form-factor CMTS designed for smaller applications requiring less than 96 cable modems.
All CMTS products come with our famous pre-configuration service and bench preparation on a live RF plant. The Slingshot Node comes with Bi-Directional SFP+ optical modules for single-fiber installation, and is pre-cabled with the fiber optic cable in the length you request. Your CMTS will be ready to install upon arrival. With a Web GUI and CLI support it is easy to navigate through configuration and operation details.
Slingshot Nodes
Often times the CMTS needs to be installed in an indoor room where there is less than ideal ventilation. The Slingshot Node is prefect for these settings. It can be wall-mounted, rack mounted with a horizontal bar rail, or mounted on a steel cable (i.e., strand-mount).
The Slingshot Node 3.0 is offered with multiple license configurations:
- 16 downstream – 4 upstream channels
- 32 downstream – 8 upstream channels
- 1 OFDM downstream optional for DOCSIS 3.1 and 3.0 modem support!
The 32 x 8 CMTS can be upgraded to support an additional DOCSIS 3.1 OFDM full-spectrum 192Mhz downstream channel in addition to the 32 SCQAM DOCSIS 3.0 channels, enabling support for DOCSIS 3.1 / 3.0 cable modems that can operate in “mixed-mode”. This gives you 3Gbps of downstream capacity!
The Slingshot Node 3.1 is a fully featured DOCSIS 3.1 CMTS offered with multiple license configurations:
- Supports up to 32 DOCSIS 3.0 downstream channels
- Supports up to 8 DOCSIS 3.0 Upstream Channels
- Supports up to 2 DOCSIS 3.1 Upstream Channels
- Suppors up to 4 DOCSIS 3.1 Downstream Channels
The Slingshot Node 3.1 with the proper coax environment can support up to 2Gbps of Upstream capacity and up to 8Gbps of Downstream capacity!
Both Slingshot Node models have an integrated launch amplifier which supports an optical input for passing in video services as well as the cable modem support, so you can combine all services as inputs to the launch amp. Four (4) RF outputs to your RF distribution are supported. There are individual upstream test points for each RF port so you can isolate upstream noise easier.
The Slingshot Node supports 256, 512 or 1,024 registered cable modems, with the most common deployment option of 512. DOCSIS channels and modem capacity are enabled through a license upgrade, so you can start with a 16DS x 4US channel setup and upgrade later when you need more bandwidth capacity.

Slingshot 64 and Slingshot 96
The Slingshot 64 and Slingshot 96 is an fan-less, indoor wall mountable CMTS fixed with a 32 downstream by 8 upstream channel configuration at a price point that does not break the bank.
The Slingshot 64 supports up to 64 modems and the Slingshot 96 supports up to 96 cable modems. They are perfect for small sites like an RV Park that uses Wi-Fi access points with a cable modem for “back-haul”. The Slingshot 64 and 96 have same Web GUI and console command line support as the Slingshot Node.
